You may remember Kii, a coffee we had on last year, named for the wet mill it was produced in, we’re now pleased to present you with Karimakui.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"mcePastedContent\"\u003eRung’eto Farmers Co-Op, established in 1953 hosts three wet mills, Kii, Karimakui and Kiangoi. Situated on the southern slopes of Mount Kenya the combined membership of the co-op is 2858 farmers. Seven elected officials run the Board of the Co-Op, two from each factory catchment, each member representing an electoral zone in the larger Rung’eto sublocation.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"mcePastedContent\"\u003eKirinyaga county lies south of Mt. Kenya, an ancient forested area with a wealth of exotic wildlife and medicinal plants that gets around 50 inches of rainfall a year. Many rivers permeate the region contributing to the volcanic soil being rich in nutrients, those nutrients provide smallholders and co-ops with the resources to grow and process some of Kenyas most fruit forward coffees.
