    Sumatra Asman Gayo

Introducing Sumatra Asman Gayo, a standout from the Pegasing district in Aceh, Takengon. This coffee is crafted by Cup of Excellence winner Asman Arianto at his dedicated mill, where he partners with smallholder farmers from the Pantan Musara villages. This resilient community, set in the lush landscapes of volcanic mountains and rainforests, is committed to producing high-quality coffee that reflects the unique terroir of Sumatra.

At the Asman Gayo mill, traditional and meticulous processing methods yield both Washed and Natural coffees—rare in Sumatra's humid climate. Here, cherries are hand-picked, depulped, and fermented for up to 36 hours, then washed and dried on raised beds or in parabolic dryers. This careful handling preserves the rich, distinctive flavors of each bean and honors the hard work of the mostly female farmers who grow these coffees.

Expect a bold and complex cup with notes of blackberry, date, and stewed peach. Sumatra Asman Gayo embodies the spirit of Sumatra’s coffee culture, with a depth and richness that shines across all brewing methods.
